Our previous classes of Cincinnati Marketing Legends unite every year to review nominations and select the newest class of Legends. This prestigious award is like a “lifetime achievement” award for esteemed marketers in the great Cincinnati area who have made a lasting impact and brought acclaim to the city and the marketing profession. At the 2021 Marketing Pinnacle Awards ceremony in November, we were honored to announce our fifth class of Cincinnati Marketing Legends: Tom Hayes and Amanda Hill.

Tom Hayes

Dean, Williams College of Business at Xavier University

Tom is the Dean of the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. In his forty-five years, he also served as Chair of the Marketing Department and as the Director of Institutional Advancement.

Tom was a founding partner of SimpsonScarborough, a full service marketing and branding company in higher education. He founded the AMA’s Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education. He was on the board of the local chapter for 10 years and also served as VP twice on the national board of the AMA in the Services and Marketing Management divisions. Tom has won CASE’s Crystal Apple award for speaking excellence and has had two books published by CASE.

Tom received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology as well as an MBA in Marketing at Xavier University. He also received an MBA in Organizational Behavior and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati. He was awarded an ACE Fellowship for the 2004-2005 academic year, which he served at Kenyon College.

Amanda Hill

CEO, Female Forward

Amanda is the CEO of Female Forward. Over the last 20 years of her career, she has partnered with companies that serve women to help them develop brand strategies and marketing campaigns that increase sales and lead to a 300% or greater ROI. She has over-delivered results in large, corporate business as well as with startups and nonprofits who have a mission to better serve women, including global and national brands such as Pantene, Olay, Clairol, Always, Tampax, Facebook, McCormick, Energizer, Salonpass, and Roll by Goodyear.

Amanda has led several product portfolios worth over $1B each at Procter & Gamble and was formerly the North America Brand Director for Feminine Care, where she grew sales by over $100 million in just four years. Under her leadership, Always became the first feminine care brand ever to air a commercial during the Super Bowl in 2015, and Amanda proudly represented the #likeagirl program at forums like the Association of National Advertisers and the ESPY Humanitarian Awards.

Amanda is also renowned for her skills at coaching women. She led the Women’s Empowerment Network at P&G and has coached hundreds of high-achieving women on mindset, leadership, and time management. She has conducted high-quality, engaging training on marketing and leadership, averaging a 4.8 out of 5 rating for overall effectiveness.
