Topic: Best Practices for Live Streaming
Facilitator: Tom Gelehrter, President & Founder, 4th Floor Creative


“I have lived the explosion of live streaming first-hand.  When I arrived at the University of Cincinnati in 2006 nobody was live streaming video. Period. Some people were live streaming audio and that was my first initiative, stream audio.  Nine years later, I was live streaming over 100 events per year, from live games to press conferences and much more.  In the last two years, the live streaming focus has landed squarely on social media….Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Periscope and others…there is no shortage of places and ways to live stream video.  Which brings us to the biggest question…..best practices for live streaming. “

In my presentation, I will tackle all of the above.


Tom Gelehrter spent nine years working in the Department of Athletics at the University of Cincinnati before joining the start-up community in the spring of 2015.  Following his tenure with the Bearcats, Gelehrter launched 4th Floor Creative, a full-service multi-media firm specializing in video creative, graphic design and photography.  Serving as President, Gelehrter has helped 4th Floor Creative grow during their first two years, adding two Fortune 500 clients, FC Cincinnati, Xavier, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and multiple other colleges to their client list.  

In addition to his role with 4th Floor Creative, Gelehrter is a veteran play-by-play voice with experience on both television and radio. He has called games for ESPNU, ESPN3, FOX Sports Ohio and 700-WLW.  Last spring, Gelehrter was named the first ever “Voice of FC Cincinnati” the new professional soccer team owned by Carl Lindner III.  He is a 2002 graduate of Syracuse University.
