Topic: Managing Emotional Reactions During Interviewing
Facilitator: Michael Mercier, President, Insightful Alliance
Very successful people — executives, government officials, doctors, attorneys, wealthy individuals, subject matter experts, thought leaders, and well-known people — often possess a combination of extreme personal characteristics. When market researchers interview professionals and VIP’s they encounter those characteristics, and some have strong emotional reactions to them. If they can’t control these emotional reactions they can transform into behavioral reactions that threaten to derail the interview. This presentation will use an emotional reaction model to describe this reaction process, and show how to control these emotions in order to stay on-task and deliver optimal insights.
