Christy Ezedi is a Brand Content Strategist and Communications leader at GE Additive. Her passion for providing creative content can be traced back to an early age, when she wrote and distributed her own neighborhood magazine, which focused on the personal stories of the residents. Decades later she still thrives on telling stories in innovative and impactful ways. As an experienced marketer, Christy has worked across multiple marketing disciplines and has over a decade of experience in marketing and communications. Before joining GE in 2018 and dabbling in the technology industry, she worked as a Marketing Communications Manager at a Fortune 33 Healthcare Company, and as a Workforce Communication and Change Associate at the #1 HR consulting firm in the world. With storytelling telling as her core skill she has developed and executed several effective and innovative campaigns throughout her career. Christy holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Integrated Strategic Communications from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Sullivan University.
Alexis Nelson is a Senior Social Media Executive at Bark. Nelson started as a seasonal hire for Bark’s customer service team when the company’s Columbus office was in the Short North. Today she’s responsible for making sure the company maintains “a consistent brand voice” across all its platforms, ranging from Facebook to TikTok. Bark has more than 11 million followers across all its channels, according to a spokeswoman.
Nelson’s own experience is most prevalent in the company’s Twitter persona, where she interacts with followers and often tweets about her own dog (his name is Colonel Mustard, and he is “small, potato-like and sweet”). She also handles the brand’s Instagram and works with her team – four people total, plus an intern – to engage with followers across all Bark’s social platforms.
Maris Callahan is the Senior Public Relations Manager at Home Chef, a meal kit delivery service. She was formerly the Director of Communications for @properties from 2017-2019. Prior to joining the @properties team, where she managed PR, social media, content and digital marketing, Maris ran the consumer and corporate public relations efforts for Donuts Inc., a domain name registry.
Maris spent five years running her own public relations consulting business, where she helped small- to mid-size companies develop and implement customized public relations and social media strategies. Leveraging expertise in media relations, social media management, strategic marketing, and event planning, Maris helped place her clients in numerous national media outlets including CNN, Good Morning America, The New York Times, The TODAY Show and many others.
Maris Callahan has worked for some of the world’s top public relations firms, including Burson-Marsteller, Edelman Public Relations (the nation’s largest independent PR firm) and Lippe Taylor Brand Marketing. During this time, Maris has played a key role for clients across all industries such as Starbucks Coffee Company, Canon USA, Quaker Oats, Hormel Foods, Wheat Foods Council, David’s Bridal, Doncaster, American Signature Furniture and Curvation Intimate Apparel.
Lunch will be set up when you arrive. This month we are featuring a “Pastapalooza” buffet with tossed salad, pasta, your choice of alfredo, marinara or meat sauce, Italian-style vegetables, garlic breadsticks, and freshly baked dessert.
New – Lunch Huddles! After a successful pilot in November, we are continuing our Lunch Huddle networking opportunities. Now, in addition to the knowledge you’ll gain from our Trailblazing speaker(s), you can also expect to get more out of your lunch too. Each lunch table will have at least one AMA partner, Board Member, or Subject Matter Expert to help facilitate conversations around the afternoon’s topic. This is your time to network, ask questions, and learn from peers.
For Content Marketing Month 2020, we’ll be covering all the media—infographics, SEO and website copy, video, livestreams, podcasts, and more—with an unrelenting focus on metrics. How do these channels and tactics generate (measurable) awareness? Nurture leads? How do you develop content strategies that contribute to company growth goals? How can you create capacity on your team (or know who to hire) to execute? Learn more about how to participate in #CMM2020 https://amacincinnati.org/content-marketing-month/
