Making International Relocation Possible for Healthcare Professionals through Social Engagement

Passport USA works to place healthcare professionals from abroad in facilities throughout the United States. With a commitment to work closely with their applicants in securing a position and moving to the United States, Passport USA had a rich opportunity to take such excellent customer service and transfer it to social media engagement.

We at Health Carousel were excited to participate in the challenge with Passport USA, which was to activate the fellowship of Passport USA—a community of more than 733,000 people—on Facebook. With a target audience of international healthcare professionals who want to work in the United States, overcoming language barriers was mission-critical to effective communication. High-priority content included anything from updates on immigration regulations, to visa news, best practices to prepare, industry statistics, and—our favorite—our weekly arrivals.

We used (and continue to use) a range of content and media to reach our audience, many of which is candidate-sourced. We have a very active blog, which gets published, commented on and shared on social media, video updates, photos, webinars and simple status updates. Because of our commitment to quick response, we stay actively engaged, ensuring all questions and concerns are properly addressed.

It’s a lot of work, but it comes with the reward of a close-knit, engaged community that offers amazing opportunities for international healthcare professionals. The reward for the hard work came with being s nice honored at the AMA Pinnacle Awards. We had a good time meeting other marketing professionals like us around the city and look forward to attending next year. By then, we expect to have over a million followers, and a Pinnacle Awards trophy to show for it!
