Client Overview

HCAN’s goal is to end health disparity and improve the overall quality of health in the communities they serve.

Through teams of Community Health Workers, they assist clients to overcome factors related to social determinants of health.

They partner with community resources, health systems, health insurance plans, government payers, and grant funders.

Problem Statement

HCAN’s goal with AMA Cincinnati Agency was to increase enrollment in the Community Health Worker training program.

Outcomes

The team performed a market analysis, a SWOT exercise, and extensive community interviews to understand HCAN’s current position in the marketplace and to identify opportunities.

They recommended five marketing tactics to implement:

  1. Create additional printed marketing materials that explain the benefits of becoming a certified CHW
  2. Expand the digital presence of the CHW program
  3. Continue to leverage partnerships to increase the awareness of the program
  4. Seek out earned media specifically for the CHW program.
  5. Build awareness for HCAN in general

The team also expressed the importance of setting goals for all marketing activities and underlined that message frequency is as important as message reach.
