The AMA Job Transition SIG hosted LPK Talent Acquisition Manager Steve Bowling to an overflowing capacity crowd at its August monthly meeting.

Steve Bowling, Talent Acquisition Manager at LPK

Steve began by sharing how LPK has evolved over the years from its roots in package design to become a full-service global brand design agency—a detail some audience members didn’t realize. In addition to design, the agency

employs experts in insights, trends, strategy and innovation across disciplines such as product development, print and pattern aesthetics, visual media (photography, video and CGI) and verbal strategy (copywriting and naming).

Steve came to LPK nine years ago from a non-HR background, so he is personally familiar with how potential candidates can best present themselves for employment opportunities at the agency.

Although many candidates need hard skills to qualify for certain positions, Steve also looks for people who possess intangible skills such as curiosity, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to “work in the grey.”

Hiring demands ebb and flow at the agency, but he is open to meeting any time with those interested in a possible future career at the agency. Steve encourages people to reach out to him on LinkedIn, as that’s how he often proactively uncovers new talent for LPK.
